The Dignity Divas are a group of women who ensure that all elderly, disabled, or vulnerable people in their communities are living with dignity.
They visit them, do their laundry, clean their homes, make sure they’re taking care of their health, and run errands for them. This usually involves having a good chat with them and playing a game of cards or giving them a pedicure. When resources are available they provide them with fruit or a healthy meal.
This team of amazing women also provides basic care services for special needs children.
The ladies currently have a client base of over 100 people.
This project is managed by grassroots NGOs: Overstrand Unite and Overstrand Association of People with Disabilities
Location: Mount Pleasant, Hawston, and Zwelihle in Hermanus, Overstrand, Western Cape, South Africa
